CRICKET Aweko upbeat ahead of Victoria Series tournament
As the Victoria Series tournament countdown edges closer, the Victoria Pearls camp continues to step up its preparations.
"We have faced most countries more often like Kenya, who we played four months ago and Rwanda, who we played in June," Aweko told Pulse Sports.
"UAE is the country we haven't faced the most; we last faced them in 2018, so we have to be cautious because a lot has changed since."
"We know they have done homework against us just like we have done ours," she added.
The captain also called for composure: "As captain, I have to be more composed because that will enable me to manage the players even if things are not going our way."
The United Arab Emirates is the highest-ranked of all the nations set to compete in the tournament.
The Gulf state is ranked 15th, one spot ahead of Tanzania, while Uganda comes in 21st, Kenya occupies the 23rd spot, and Rwanda sits three places below.- The tournament gets underway on 16th April at the Lugogo Cricket Oval.
