The Uganda Cricket Association Media manager Denis Musali later confirmed that the duo have since left camp and are expected back in Uganda by Friday in time for the burial of their beloved mother

Uganda won the toss and elected to field, limiting Namibia to 191/6; the chase saw Laurence Mahatlane’s side post 164/4, granting the hosts a 21 runs victory, and Ronald Lutaaya put up a commendable 54(46).

Captain Brian Masaba summed up the day as tough on and off the field but maintained that the team will bounce back on Thursday.

“Pretty tough day on and off the field but not too unhappy with the result, we were not too far, obviously we gave them 20 runs too many when we fielded,” Masaba told Pulse Sports.

CRICKET Castle Lite Series: Ssesazi focused on consistency ahead

Cricket Cranes batsman Simon Ssesazi who had a lacklustre performance during the Continental T20 Cup tournament in Nairobi as the team pulled off a heist to win by one run, knows the Namibia Castle Lite Series is another opportunity to go again and be more consistent.

“Overall, it was tough, especially with the Henry (Ssenyondo) and Simon (Ssesazi) situation, so we shall try and bounce back on Thursday to make them proud,” Masaba added.

Simon Ssesazi and Henry Ssenyondo have been replaced by Fred Achelam and youngster Pius Oloka respectively.

The two past editions of the series have seen Uganda lose all games in the first edition, while in 2022, the Cricket Cranes only managed two wins in as many games.
