It’s always tough for an athlete to get back to his best after a slump in form; it usually requires more than just effort.
Cricket Cranes batsman Simon Ssesazi who had a lacklustre performance during the Continental T20 Cup tournament in Nairobi as the team pulled off a heist to win by one run, knows the Namibia Castle Lite Series is another opportunity to go again and be more consistent.
“I struggled a bit (in Kenya) but later came back slowly, winning a game for Uganda, and that is the best thing that happened to me; I did my best for sure, so there is progress,” Ssesazi told Pulse Sports.
Ssesazi’s 56(45) player-of-the-game performance guided the Cricket Cranes past Kenya with an 8-wicket victory, and the right-hand batsman adds that it will be a better show in Windhoek.
“In Namibia, I believe I’ll do much better; I was one of the top performers in the 2022 edition; I just have to stay on the wicket longer to score more runs; the consistency has to be there.”
“As a team, we need to bat better and avoid the Kenya scenario, I believe we’re well off with bowling and fielding, but we need to go an extra mile with the batting.”
