Uganda came from 5-4 after 3.2 overs to set 125 all out in the allotted overs before miraculously stopping Kenya on the final ball.

Cricket Cranes head coach Laurence Mahatlane has revealed that even he can't stop a repeat of his side's recent near-fatal experience during the Champion T20 Cup in Nairobi, Kenya, last month.

Uganda came from 5-4 after 3.2 overs to set 125 all out in the allotted overs before miraculously stopping Kenya on the final ball.

"I think it's a sport, it's not the first time, and it won't be the last time; the key for me from that experience was the ability to fight back and get the victory," Mahatlane told Pulse Sports.

"At 5-4, many teams would have given up, the investment we have made in giving experience over the years came through, and we hope it continues in the years to come."

Having won the inaugural T20 Continent Cup, the team turns to focus on the Castle Lite Series in Namibia, and a 14-man squad led by captain Brian Masaba is set to travel to Namibia for the showpiece.

Veteran batsman Roger Mukasa misses out due to injury, while Siraje Nsubuga is replaced by a well-rested Juma Miyaji, who missed the Kenya Trip. Ronald Lutaaya, who also missed the Kenya trip due to exams, returns to the fold.

The Cricket Cranes have struggled for form in the past two editions of the Castle Lite series, losing all five games in the first edition while they only picked up two wins and a draw in as many games in 2022.

The Namibia Castle Lite series will run from the 4th to the 13th of July 2023, featuring four T20i and 2 ODI matches between the two countries.
