Head coach Lawrence Mahatlane has welcomed the competition stating that it comes at the right time and would help the team know how far they’ve grown since they last played T-20 Cricket.
“It’s just over ten weeks since we last played our last competitive form of cricket, so this comes at the right ideal time for the group,” He noted.

Cricket Cranes bowler Cosmas Kyewuta is one of the lucky athletes to have bagged a career-changing training camp opportunity in South Africa.
“We’ve worked on a certain kind of Cricket, one we want to play for eight months, so for me, it’s about doing the right things and working on the type of Cricket we want to play.
“We haven’t played T-20 cricket in nearly six months, so it will be interesting to face the teams we played in December in Kigali.”
The former U-19 South African cricket coach also welcomed back Dinesh Nakrani, who has been away since August 2022. However, the left-handed batsman is back and training with the team.
“It’s nice to see Dinesh Nakrani back on the team; he hasn’t played since we went to Jersey, so let’s see how it goes.”
The Cricket Cranes last played a T-20 tournament in December 2022 when they won the Tri-Nation T-20 tournament beating Tanzania by seven runs.
The inaugural Continent Cup T20-Africa is scheduled to run from 9th - 20th June in Nairobi, Kenya. Tanzania, Nigeria, Botswana, Uganda, Rwanda and hosts Kenya will participate in the tournament.
