Ahead of the Opening ceremony of the seventh edition of the National Youth Games, the Nigeria Cricket Federation has donated playing equipment to all 13 participating states, including hosts Delta.
The Games are scheduled to take place between September 20 and 30 in Asaba, Delta State with the opening ceremony for September 23rd.

In a statement by NCF, the board donated 30 junior batting gloves, 10 junior batting pads, five junior wicket keepers gloves, 30 youth bats, and 40 youth gloves to the states.
They also supplied 18 packs of balls to guarantee the game runs well. It will be contested in three formats: one day 50 overs, T-20, and sic-aside.

“This timely intervention is in line with the first of the five key strategic pillars of development by the board of the NCF, which is promoting the game of cricket at all levels (male/female) through grassroots development in the six geo-political zones.
“This donation will ensure that participating states have standard equipment to facilitate the tournament and also take back home, which in turn guarantees that these states now possess the right equipment to continue training for their youngsters, especially with the National U-17 Championship in sight,” the statement read.
