Today, the Kenyan cricket fraternity and fans around the world join together to celebrate the birthday of a true legend, Steve Tikolo. 

Born on June 25th, this iconic cricketer left an indelible mark on the sport, both in Kenya and beyond.

Known for his exceptional batting prowess, formidable bowling skills, and immense leadership qualities, Tikolo's contribution to the Kenyan national team was unparalleled.

The former Kenya national team captain's career was a testament to his unwavering passion and dedication to the game. With the bat in hand, he enthralled audiences with his elegant strokeplay and the ability to anchor innings. 

Throughout his illustrious career, Tikolo amassed a staggering 3,369 runs in One Day Internationals (ODIs), averaging an impressive 30.03. He holds the record for the most runs scored by a Kenyan cricketer in ODIs, showcasing his dominance on the international stage.

However, Tikolo's impact was not limited to his batting prowess alone as his right-arm off-spin bowling was equally devastating. 

With his astute variations, he claimed 105 wickets in ODIs, proving to be a constant threat to opposition batsmen. His ability to turn the ball sharply and deceive the best of batsmen earned him tremendous respect from teammates and opponents alike.

The journey of Steve Tikolo with the Kenya national team is one that will be remembered for generations to come. 

A former Swamibapa player, Tikolo first burst onto the scene in the late 1990s when Kenya emerged as a force to be reckoned with in international Cricket.
