Swamibapa sides bounced back with major wins as Annadil Jamaly vanquished Meru in an action-packed Nairobi Provincial Cricket Association Twenty20 league last weekend

Swamibapa teams shone with bat and ball as the Nairobi Provincial Cricket Association (NPCA) Twenty20 League double-header weekend culminated at various venues.

In Super Division, Vraj Patel and Mitesh Sanghani were the star attractions as defending champions Swamibapa A defeated Sikh Union by 53 runs.

The win was a welcome relief for the Swamis after they suffered a humiliating six-wicket loss to Shree Cutchi Leva Patel Samaj the previous weekend.

In Division One, Swamibapa B side handed Wolves Cricket Club A, a seven-wicket blow at their Jamhuri High School backyard.

This was yet another befitting comeback for Swamibapa B who had lost by 38 runs to Kenya Kongonis Cricket Club A on January 28.

Meanwhile, Swamibapa Development in Division Two defeated Kenya Kongonis B by five runs to complete an exhilarating triple victory for the Swamis.

Kenya Kongonis B won the toss and elected to bat first, scoring 93-8 in 20 overs. Chasing the target, Swamibapa Development hit 96-8 in 19.3 overs.

Swamibapa Development’s top order made the biggest contribution in their win against Kongonis with Dhananjay Hirani, Miran Bhojani and Divyang Varsani scoring 17, 15 and 24 respectively.

In another Division Two fixture, Annadil Jamaly Sports Complex beat Meru Cricket Club A by six wickets at Saifee Park in Nairobi.

The Super Division featured three matches with Kanbis A, Stray Lions A and Swamibapa A emerging victorious.

At the Eastleigh High School grounds, hosts Kanbis A defeated Obuya Cricket Academy A by 37 runs to register their third win of the T20 season.

Elsewhere, Stray Lions, enjoying the services of their new Indian pro Bhagath Varma, also maintained their winning streak, defeating Nairobi Gymkhana by eight wickets.
