Dudu Ramathan opened the score in the 64th minute with an easy tap, but the visitors levelled matters with seven minutes remaining in standard time.

Dudu Ramathan struck at the death of average time to send Uganda Pentecostal University packing as Kitara sailed to the Stanbic Uganda Cup in the round of 16 on Tuesday in Hoima.

The Pentecostals, from neighbouring Fort Portal city, had promised to spoil the party for coach Sam Ssimbwa in his first competitive game in Hoima.

Ronald Kayondo saw an earlier volley fly over the bar shortly, while David Kasaija failed to hit a shot when clear on goal into the match.

Godfrey Lwesibawa struck a bit later, but his powerful shot skewed wide. Moses Sseruyidde had the best chances of the opening hour from the dead-ball situations, but he was unlucky.

First, his freekick missed by inches despite beating the keeper. Then saw the keeper save his penalty five minutes after the pause. Edison Agondeze had been fouled inside the box.

Dudu Ramathan opened the score in the 64th minute with an easy tap but the visitors levelled matters through AbdulBurst Bwambale with seven minutes remaining in normal time.

Dudu, however, was not done with the day’s work as he popped out to fire the winning goal in the fourth minute of added time. Kitara won 2-1.
