Otti towered high in the 7th minute to head in Ibrahim Mugulusi’s corner Kick for the lone strike in a game that could have gone either way.

Centre-back Ronald Otti thundered an early header as BUL defeated SC Villa 1-0 in a pulsating match in Njeru to BUL to the round of 16 of the Stanbic Uganda Cup.

Otti towered high in the 7th minute to head in Ibrahim Mugulusi’s corner Kick for the lone strike in a game that could have gone either way.

The Jogoos almost levelled back eleven minutes later but former BUL defender Kenneth Semakula saw his header ricochet on the crossbar.

Unlucky Bbale

Villa striker Charles Bbale had the most chances in the game but was unlucky on the day. Seif Batte set him up in the 23rd minute but he shot wide.

The striker made good inroads four minutes into the second half but skewed his shot wide with the goal wide open.

Joseph Kafumbe pounced on a floating ball in the box deep in the game power in but he was denied by the frame. Bbale tapped in the rebound but the flag was up. He was later to be denied again by the upright with Saidi Keni well beaten in between BUL’s posts.

BUL’s Walter Ochora also saw the referee rule out his attempt after rising high to head in Ibrahim Kazindula’s freekick.

BUL held their nerves to seal the game and stretch their unbeaten run at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru to nine games with seven wins.
