FUFA has suspended second assistant referee Khalid Muyaga for cancelling SC Villa’s against BUL in a Stanbic Uganda Cup round of 32 match played on Friday afternoon in Njeru.
Ronald Otti towered high to head in from an Ibrahim Mugulusi 7th-minute corner to propel the edible oil manufacturers into the last 16.
“FUFA Competent bodies are reviewing the incident that led to the cancellation of the would-be SC Villa’s equaliser against BUL FC on 17.2.2023 during the Stanbic Uganda Cup match at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru,” Brian Miiro Nsubuga, chairman FUFA Referees standing committee stated in a communique shared on Saturday morning.

The Incident
The Jogoos kept pressuring for an equaliser and thought they had finally pulled one in the 84th minute but the assistant referee Muyaga flagged them off.
Rogers Kiwanuka had started a run on the right wing, cut in, and attempted a shot but it was blocked.
Joseph Kafumbe pounced on the remains and packaged a low delivery that beat Saidi Keni’s dive but was denied by the upright. The rebound found Bbale in the right place at the right time with the striker tapping in.
However, his celebrations were cut short as centre referee Ronald Madanda ruled it offside with the guidance of his assistant.
Miiro further confirmed the developments: “One of the assistant referees Muyaga Khalid of this match will not get any appointments until further decisions on this incident are communicated.”
