CECAFA Sudan to host Kagame Club Championship, Rwanda for Pan-African Schools

Rwanda and Sudan have confirmed to host the Pan African Schools Championship Zonal qualifier and the CECAFA Kagame Club Championship, respectively.

The Council of East and Central Africa Africa Football Association (CECAFA) has confirmed that Sudan will host the CECAFA Kagame Club Championship.

The tournament was last held in August 2021 in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania with the-then Ugandan Champions Express emerging champions.

CECAFA has set July 15th-29th for the club championships that are currently sponsored by Rwanda’s President Paul Kagame.

Schools

Talking Rwanda, the nation will host the Pan-African Schools Championship Zonal Qualifier in August.

FIFA recently launched the Football for Schools (F4S) programme in Kigali, making them the 50th nation in the world and 14th in Africa to implement such a programme.

Royal Giants from Uganda are the reigning CECAFA champions in the Pan-African games. The champions of the tournament take part in the CAF finals.

“We are glad that we now have hosts for six of the tournaments. We shall confirm hosts for the CECAFA U-23 Championship later,” Auka Gecheo, the CECAFA Executive Director confirmed.

Uganda will host the CECAFA U-15 Boys Championship and the CAF Women’s Championship League Zonal qualifiers while Kenya stages the CECAFA U-18 Women’s and Boys’.
