Soltilo Bright Stars FC fell just short in the 2018/19 Stanbic Uganda Cup final, as they lost to Proline FC 5-4 on spot-kicks after normal time ended 1-1.
They will reach the final in the current campaign, should they fend off opposition from two-time winner Vipers SC in on of the two semi-finals.
"It's a great opportunity for this team because that's why we entered (play) this cup," Bright Stars head coach, Asaph Mwebaze noted to the club media.
Mwebaze was reacting to the draw that was held on Thursday at FUFA House, Mengo.
Vipers has made the last two finals of the Cup, going on to win and lose one apiece to BUL FC on both occasions.
"Of course when you meet Vipers, you are meeting one of the biggest teams in country ; have been in the champions league, defending champions of the league," Mwebaze assessed.
"But this is the last four, and we have earned our place here. We shall go into the game to give it our best shot to make it to Lira (Akii-Bua Memorial Stadium)."
"We can pull it off (victory) against them," he reiterated. "It's a two legged tie and I'm sure the players are looking forward to it, because these are the games that make the players and the coaches,” he added.
The semi-final first leg bout at the St Mary's Stadium, Kitende will be played between May 14th and 15th, before the second leg between May 20th and 27th.
The other last four tie will see Police FC take on fellow FUFA Big League side Adjumani TC, with the former hosting the first leg at Kavumba.
Meanwhile for Bright Stars, they first of all have a Uganda Premier League encounter against BUL FC to lay their entire focus on at the FUFA Technical Center, Njeru on Friday.
