Talented forward Sixtus Ogbuehi joins Osasuna's Nigerian heritage on loan with the option to make the move permanent.

Nigerian forward Sixtus Ogbuehi has officially joined Osasuna Promesas, the reserve team of CA Osasuna, on loan for the second half of the Primera Federación season.

The 21-year-old Nigerian striker arrives from Club Deportivo Eldense, where he had limited playing time, and the deal includes an option for Osasuna to make the transfer permanent at the end of the season.

Ogbuehi, who stands at 6 feet 2 inches tall, is recognised for his physical ability. He previously showed his scoring ability in Spain's Tercera Federación, netting an impressive 18 goals last season.

Eight of his goals were scored at Moralo and ten with Ceuta B—which significantly contributed to their promotion efforts.

His performances earned him a move to Eldense during the summer, representing a huge leap of three divisions up to LaLiga Hypermotion.

However, he struggled to find consistent playing time there, featuring in only six league matches and one Copa del Rey game this season.

Now in Pamplona, Ogbuehi is expected to bolster Osasuna Promesas' attack as they aim to improve their current standing in the league, where they sit 11th with 25 points.

Head coach Santi Castillejo is looking forward to integrating Ogbuehi into the squad, hoping his goal-scoring instincts will help elevate the team's performance.

With this transfer, Ogbuehi joins a select group of Nigerian players at Osasuna, becoming the third after Emeka Ifejiagwa and Stephen Sunday to represent either the first team or its affiliate.

Ifejiagwa was instrumental in helping Osasuna return to La Primera División in the late 1990s, while Sunday played a crucial role in keeping the team afloat during his loan spell in 2008-09 47.
