Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa has revealed that the 2023 African Cup of Nations taking place in Ivory Coast would be his last participation at the continental tournament.
The 31-year-old attacker made this statement during an interview with the BBC back in 2022.

Just like the 2018 World Cup, the Super Eagles of Nigeria have departed for AFCON in Cote d’Ivoire wearing white Kaftan and green caps.
Aside from football, Ahmed Musa, who is well-known for his philanthropic work, said the time was right to give room for younger players to fly Nigeria's green and white flag.
"There's the need to give a chance to other young players to come through and play in the tournament."
"I got my chance as a young player. I've fulfilled some childhood memories. Everything that has a beginning must come to an end,’ he told BBC Sports Africa.
Ahmed Musa wants to win 2023 AFCON
The Super Eagles captain won his first-ever AFCON with the Super Eagles when late Stephen Keshi led Nigeria to win the trophy in Burkina Faso.
Ahmed Musa wants his last participation at the continental tournament to end in similar fashion as the first.
"What is important is to try to give my best and try to win it for my country. The players are fully aware of my plans, and we have a squad good enough to win it again.
"I would like for the story of my Nations Cup to end very well like the first by winning it."
