2023 Community Shield date confirmed as Arsenal battle Man City

The Football Association have announced the date for the Community Shield which will be played at Wembley Stadium.

The FA Community Shield match between Manchester City and Arsenal will take place at Wembley Stadium on Sunday, August 6, according to the Football Association.

After City and Liverpool's Community Shield match was played at Leicester City's King Power Stadium last year due to the 2022 UEFA European Women's Championship final.

This season, the customary season-opener will move back to Wembley Stadium with the kick-off set at 5:30 pm.

Man City face Arsenal in the FA Community Shield 

Premier League winners Man City are set to face last season's title contender Arsenal in the FA Community Shield before the start of the new season.

Man City won the Premier League title and the FA Cup this season which paved the way for Arsenal to face them because they finished second in the Premier League.

City will hope to win the trophy this time around and add yet another title to their collection after losing the final 3-1 the year before.

The Community Shield was last won by City in 2019 when they defeated Liverpool on penalties after a 1-1 draw to win 5-4. In their history, they have won the trophy six times, including twice under Pep Guardiola.

According to reports from BBC, Arsenal and City will square off at Wembley on August 6, only five days before City's Premier League debut against Burnley at Turf Moor on Friday, August 11, 

Premier League fixtures released

The 2023/2024 Premier League fixtures have been released with the new season set to begin on August 12.

The Premier League wasted no time in generating excitement by publishing the schedule for the upcoming season. With League football on vacation and not set to begin until August, keen fans are eager to find out how their favourite teams start the season.

The schedule for the upcoming season was announced on Thursday morning, giving the league winners an opening-day match against Burnley.

Mauricio Pochettino will undoubtedly face his hardest test yet as Chelsea welcomes Liverpool to Stamford Bridge in the weekend's match.

Arsenal will host Nottingham Forest at the Emirates, and Manchester United will finish the first weekend with a Monday night home game against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
