2023 Presidential race loser Atiku Abubakar reacts to Arsenal’s win over Man City

2023 Presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar has reacted to Arsenal’s Community Shield win against Man City, insisting the team is ready for the new season.

Arsenal defeated 2023 Premier League champions Man City to win the Community Shield for the 17th time.

Cole Palmer, a replacement for Manchester City, scored the game's first goal with a curling attempt, but Arsenal didn't give up and scored the equaliser in stoppage time to force a penalty shootout.

Martin Odegaard, Leandro Trossard, Bukayo Saka, and Fabio Viera all converted their respective penalties for Arsenal, whereas Man City only converted one and missed two others.

Aaron Ramsdale was Arsenal's hero after he saved the last penalty from Manchester City player Rodri.

Atiku Abubakar who is an Arsenal supporter expressed his happiness after the Gunners secured the Community Shield for the 17th time.

Atiku posted on Twitter saying “Arsenal seems quite ready to hit the ground running this season. Persistence pays. Congratulations, @Arsenal. -AA #ARSMCI👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽.”

The 2023 Presidential candidate has hailed the persistence of the teams and not giving up until the last minute of the game.

He also congratulated Mikel Arteta and his team for winning the Community Shield for the 17th time and claimed the team is ready to hit the ground running.

Arsenal’s win over Manchester City makes it the third time the Gunners will defeat Man City in the Community Shield and the 17th time they win the Community Shield title.

On Saturday, Arsenal take on Nottingham Forest in the Premier League opener as they try to contend with City for the championship.
