Matchday 22 in LaLiga has thrown up a couple of intriguing matches with some special numbers.
The race for the LaLiga title remains as interesting as ever and will continue this weekend as leaders Barcelona and Real Madrid will be in action.
It is also expected to be an interesting battle in the relegation side of things but all eyes will be on the Wanda Metropolitano which will host the biggest game of the weekend as Atletico Madrid welcome Athletic Club.
That said, what else does the game week have in store for fans? Here are four (5) of the most interesting ones.
Barcelona vs Cadiz
- 16 - The number of clean sheets Barcelona has kept in the LaLiga this season.
While they have conceded just seven goals in the league this season, the league leaders came close to shipping that amount in the Europa League against Manchester United on Thursday.
It ended 2-2 in the first leg to the relief of Barcelona fans and Xavi Hernandez and they will be looking to put that game behind them as quickly as possible this weekend.
Cadiz are the unfortunate team to face the Catalans next and could pay for the disappointment in the Europa League when they visit the same venue, Nou Camp, on Sunday.
But the 16th-placed club has been a banana peel for the hosts in recent times and in this particular fixture last season, ran away with a remarkable 1-0 win.
Is revenge on the cards for Xavi’s men or there will be another shocker at the Camp?
Osasuna vs Real Madrid
- 8 - The number of points that separate Barcelona at the top from Real Madrid
The title defence has not gone to plan for defending champions Real Madrid so far in the season but Carlo Ancelotti and his boys have added another title.
Real Madrid are the latest Club World Cup winners after an eight-goal thriller against Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal in Morocco last week.
Los Blancos are back to focus in the league and attempt to catch up with their fierce rivals, Barcelona. They travel to face Osasuna and will be in confident mood for that ones.
Real are unbeaten in 15 games against their hosts this Saturday.
RCD Mallorca vs Villarreal
- 6 - The number of goals RCD Mallorca have conceded at home this season.
Villarreal and their Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze are in for a long day at work this weekend.
The Yellow Submarines are visitors at the Estadi Mallorca Son Moix, where their hosts Mallorca have only let in just six goals this season in La Liga.
Chukwueze and his fellow Submarines will need to find special scoring boots to change that record and end their three games losing streak.
Real Betis vs Real Valladolid
- 3 - The special number between Real Betis and Real Valladolid
One of the teams is chasing European football next season while the other is fighting to preserve their LaLiga status by avoiding relegation.
Real Betis, who could break into the top four, ended a run of three games without a win while Valladolid moved clear of relegation with three consecutive clean sheets.
So, heading into this fixture, the question is simple, which of these teams will take the three points to maintain their momentum?
