The famous manager never hid his desire to manage the Super Eagles while he struggled in the Saudi Arabia Pro League.
Former Mamelodi Sundowns and Al Ahly boss and Super Eagles-linked coach Pitso Mosimane has found himself in the midst of a nightmare in Saudi Arabia's Pro League.
Mosimane, who had openly expressed his desire to manage the Nigerian national team, the Super Eagles, has now been dealt a crushing blow as his current club, Abha, has been relegated to the second division.

Super Eagles-linked coach Mosimane relegated
The South African tactician, who took over the reins of Abha just six months ago, was desperate to guide the club to safety and maintain their top-flight status.
However, on the final day of the Saudi Pro League season, Mosimane and his side suffered a heartbreaking defeat to bottom-of-the-table Al Hazem, a result that ultimately sealed their fate.
Abha, Mosimane's team, had taken the lead in the match thanks to a goal from fellow African Ahmed Abdu, giving the former Mamelodi Sundowns coach a glimmer of hope.
But Al Hazem fought back valiantly and completed a remarkable turnaround, condemning Mosimane and his club to the drop.
The final nail in the coffin came when Abha finished the encounter with ten men following a late red card, compounding their misery.
Mosimane's side conceded a mindblowing 87 goals in the league and managed to accumulate just 32 points from their 34 matches.
This setback comes as a significant blow to Mosimane, who had expressed his desire to take charge of the Super Eagles and help them return to the World Cup stage.
With his contract at Abha set to expire next month, the future of the experienced South African coach remains uncertain, as he now faces the daunting task of picking up the pieces from this devastating relegation.
