The 20 year old Moroccan forward could take advantage of Barcelona's financial struggles to enter the first team dynamics next season
Barcelona’s Moroccan forward, Abde Ezzalzouli has been handed a lifeline as far as his Barcelona career is concerned.
With the club currently going through financial financial turmoil, it is believed that Barcelona will count on Abde as well as fellow loanee Nico Gonzalez to return to the club for the 2023/24 season.
Barcelona’s financial woes mean good news for Abde
Barcelona do not plan to spend big in the winter or summer windows in 2023, and that means that they will be counting on their starlets out on loan to provide cover and bolster their squad when the new season starts.
They already spent in excess of €153 million after activating financial levers to bring in seven first players for the first team despite their financial crises and are unlikely to have another window with such a layout anytime soon.
Abde, who is currently on loan at Osasuna, has slowly come into his own at the Pamplona club, and could be ready for the Barcelona first team when his loan spell is done. Which is why he was set out on loan by the Catalan giants in the first place.
Abde already showing his quality
Despite injury keeping him out of the team for a few weeks, he has still managed two assists in La Liga from four starts, one of which led to a standing ovation from Osasuna fans in the home game against Espanyol.
He also represented Morocco at the 2022 World Cup and had three cameo appearances during the country's historic run to the semifinals.
Abde is still only 20 years old, and has been on the periphery of the Barcelona first team for a few years now.
His improvement over the last year means that he will now be considered as an option for Barcelona when the new season comes.
