The defender has been training with the club for weeks now.
Harambee Stars defender Abud Omar is set to join Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) side Kenya Police FC.
The 30-year-old is available on a free transfer after mutually terminating his contract with Greece side AEL.
Omar's imminent move ends transfer speculations, as he was previously linked with a move to Greece's second-tier outfit Kalamata.
The highly rated wing-back has been training with Kenya Police FC for the past few weeks and is now set to become the club's first major signing in the mid-season transfer window that opens on Monday, 27 February.
He will be instrumental in bringing stability to the left-back position, where he has played a crucial role for Harambee Stars and the past clubs he turned out for.
Omar left Greece side AEL in July 2022 after the club terminated his contract as part of their strategy of slashing their wage bill.
He had one year left on his contract after signing a two-year deal, having joined the club in August 2021 from fellow Greek side Ionikos Nikeas.
Omar started his professional football in Greece with Panegialios in 2015 after leaving Tusker FC.
He then switched to Slavia Sofia, where he played for two seasons before joining the top Belgian side Cercle Brugge in 2018.
In 2019, he joined Romanian side Sepsi SG where he only played eight games before parting ways with the club.
In June 2013, Omar joined Tusker FC, where he stayed for two years before being signed by Greece outfit Panegialios a six-month deal that allowed him to showcase his skills as many teams were salivating for his signature.
