Italian giants AC Milan are reportedly interested in signing Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic and they intend to open talks this week
Christian Pulisic, 24, is out injured for at least another month and after Chelsea signed Mykhailo Mudryk, Joao Felix and Noni Madueke so far in January, they have loaded up on new attacking midfielders and wingers.
Milan keen on Pulisic
Pulisic’s time at Stamford Bridge appears to be up as he has just 18 months left on his current contract and according to a report in Marca, Milan want to sign Ruben Loftus-Cheek as well as Pulisic.
Pulisic is a player with outstanding qualities and the thought of spending valuable time on the bench will hardly appeal to him.
Milan represents an exciting alternative. They are the reigning Italian champions, have the likes of Olivier Giroud, Sergino Dest, and Fikayo Tomori in their squad who know Pulisic well, and he should get regular minutes in a team competing in the UEFA Champions League.
On top of that, Serie A will suit his playing style better than the Premier League. He just hasn’t been able to handle the physical nature and relentless pace in England’s top-flight.
Big Picture for Pulisic
Pulisic will view a possible move to Milan as a chance to rebuild his reputation. He has had his moments in England, but on the whole, there have only been a handful of inspired performances from the United States international. The competition for places now means there is bound to be even less margin for error.
Pulisic has made 21 appearances for Chelsea this season, but only six of those have been Premier League starts and he has just one goal to his name across all competitions.
