AFC Leopards midfielder Victor Omune is optimistic about his team's chances against Gor Mahia in the upcoming 95th Mashemeji Derby on Sunday.
The much-anticipated fixture, which is part of round 27 of the FKF Premier League, sees Leopards eager to avenge their first-leg loss and boost their standing in the league.

The 21-year-old midfielder will experience his first Mashemeji Derby following a notable first league start for AFC Leopards.
The 30-year-old Omune, who made a move to AFC Leopards from KCB in 2022, has been a key player for the team this season.
"The boys are in great mood as we approach Sunday’s match against our arch-rivals, Gor Mahia. Being the biggest match in the land, the derby comes with some sort of pressure, but we are determined to make our fans proud," Omune shared.

Omune also highlighted the team's preparation and mindset heading into the game.
"Everyone in the camp knows the importance of this match and what is at stake. Playing in the derby is one special feeling because it is a match that has everyone’s attention. We are all focused and looking forward to a good outing," he said.
The midfielder also acknowledged the expectations placed on the team by their supporters.
"The only pressure we have as players is to accord our very loyal fans the bragging rights in this match. Every keen follower of the game in the country knows how AFC Leopards fans have been supportive throughout the season. All our matches have been well attended both home and away. We are working hard not to let down our fans. They really deserve a win in this match," he noted.
With AFC Leopards ranked eighth in the league with 38 points, the team has shown signs of improvement, winning three of their last six matches, drawing two, and losing just one.
