Onyango has won seven league titles with Mamelodi, while the other three he clinched them at SuperSport.

Former Uganda Cranes captain Denis Onyango insists that he is not considering retirement from club football at the end of this season.

The 38-year-old shotstopper hung up his gloves from International football in 2021 and shifted all his focus on his club side Mamelodi Sundowns.

But since the arrival of South African Ronwen Williams from SuperSport United in July last year, Onyango has had limited playing time, especially this season, where he has featured in only three games.

“At the moment, the club is saying you can still give us something,” Goal.com quoted Onyango.

“I think the club also relies on my experience and leadership that I try to bring in the changing room, and we shall see what the club is thinking of me, but I also have to listen to my body.”

Onyango added: “I have seen players playing until they were 40 or 42, so yeah, the body still allows me to play a little bit longer.”

The former SC Villa custodian has had a remarkable career, and he is the most successful and decorated player in the history of the Premier Soccer League in South Africa, with ten league titles.

“I still want to lift these trophies, and the body still says I can continue playing for one or two more seasons,” Onyango noted.

On Tuesday, he featured in a 1-1 draw with Maritzburg United as Masandawana lifted their sixth consecutive PSL title.
