Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa talks to Pulse Sports about fasting and playing football in Ramadan.
Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa, a Muslim, is partaking with the rest of the Muslim faithful in fasting this Ramadan, and he told Pulse Sports how vital the month and his religion are to him.
Ahmed Musa is currently with the Super Eagles camp as they prepare to face Guinea-Bissau in Abuja on Friday for the first-leg of the AFCON 2024 doubleheader.

The Super Eagles captain told Pulse Sports exclusively at the Super Eagles training camp in Abuja that he has never missed fasting in Ramadan due to a football match.
The Sivasspor striker explained that his religion is important to him and that he does not trivialise what has been mandated.

He revealed that in his decade of playing abroad, he had yet to skip a day of fasting as a result of a football match and even pointed out that he was fasting at the time of questioning, as Ramadan started yesterday, Thursday.
Musa said that although he needed to take in fluids, as he was dehydrated, referencing his chapped lips, he had to comply with his religion’s stipulations.
“Yeah, I've been, I've been playing football in the board for the past 10-11 years,” Musa told Pulse Sports.
“I've never missed any time in Ramadan because I'm used to it, and that is my religion, and I have to do it no matter how I don't have to skip.
"As you can see, now my mouth is dry. I need water, but there's nothing I can do because this is my job and this is my religion. I have to obey it.”
