"Our striker Naluggwa has a chance to win the golden boot, and if we can achieve those two, we will have done ourselves justice."
After Kampala Queens clinched the 2022/23 FUFA Women Super League title, the second position and golden boot race are very much up for grabs.
And UCU Lady Cardinals coach Collins Ahumuza wants the Mukono-based side to fight for the second place as their striker Asiat Naluggwa vies for the golden boot.
"We have not managed to win the league, but following a slow start, there are other things we can achieve to round up what I think has been a tough season for us," Ahumuza told Pulse Sports.
"In the fourth position, we can rise and finish second, provided we perform well in the remainder of the season."
"Our striker Naluggwa has a chance to win the golden boot, and if we can achieve those two, we will have done ourselves justice," she added.
UCU have collected 20 points from 14 games in the fourth position, only three points behind second-placed Kawempe Muslim, who have gathered 23 points with four games to go until the end of the season.
Meanwhile, Naluggwa has managed eight goals, level with Kampala Queens' Resty Nanziri but one behind Kawempe Muslim's Shakira Nyigahirwa, who has scored nine goals.
