Ajax vs. Feyenoord gets new date
According to a Daily Mail report, the Dutch Football Association has now confirmed that both teams will be back on the pitch on Wednesday.
The game, which is one of the biggest in Dutch football, will continue from where it stopped in the 56th minute, with Feyenoord hoping to compound Ajax’s woes.
Nigerian forward, Akpom, watched from the bench as the events unfolded, with Ajax looking poised to continue their poor run of form.
Following the incident with Ajax fans, Police used tear gas to clear the crowds that gathered outside the Johan Cruyff Arena, with videos appearing online that seemed to show some fans attempting to break into the stadium, the Mail report added.
Ajax distanced themselves from the behaviour of the fans involved in the disorder, offering 'heartfelt apologies' to supporters caught up in the mayhem.
Meanwhile, Ajax are on the verge of extending their winless streak should they lose at home to Feyenoord on Wednesday.
Ajax has failed to win any of their last four matches across competitions and have just one win in four in the Eredivisie, with the club sitting 14th on the table.
