Ronaldo shines at Al Nassr
Following the acrimonious departure from the Red Devils, the 38-year-old has proven he still has the magical scoring touch and remains one of the best in the business.
Ronaldo’s 54 goals this calendar year for club and country see him beat talented players like Harry Kane, Kylian Mbappe, and Erling Haaland to finish as the highest scorer in the world.
After hitting a double in the remarkable 5-2 defeat of giants Al-Ittihad in the previous match to become the top scorer, Ronaldo put on another show to sign out for the year in style.
The former Real Madrid winger scored the final goal of the day to extend his record following another excellent win for Al Nassr against Al-Taawoun.
Al Nassr’s Ronaldo Tribute
Following the latest masterclass from their superstar forward, Al Nassr took to their social media account to celebrate the icon.
“He just can’t stop scoring,” Al Nassr’s post read in part. “Cristiano Ronaldo is the world’s top scorer in 2023 with 54 goals,” it added. “Congratulations GOAT.”
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner has been instrumental in Al Nassr’s title charge in the Saudi Pro League, with his goals not only taking the team to within seven points of leaders Al Hilal but also silencing critics who questioned if the Portuguese could still perform at a high level.
