St Anthony’s Boys Kitale teenage sensation Aldrine Kibet was given a hero’s farewell ahead of his trip to Spain where he is set to join the Nastic Soccer Academy (NSA) in Tarragona.
Area leaders joined family and locals in his Baringo home to bid him farewell where a party was held in his honour with all those present wishing him all the best as he embarks on the next chapter of his football career.
“I had the honour of attending a farewell party for Aldrine Kibet who is about to embark on an incredible journey to join the High Level Performance Nastic Academy in Spain. We gathered in Poror to celebrate his dedication and talent,” said Eldama Ravine MP Musa Sirma, who was among those in attendance.
“My message to him is ‘Aldrine, your future is as bright as the Camp Nou Stadium lights Wishing you success and unforgettable experiences in Spain. Safe travels, Amigo!’ Kongoi bikab Poror ak Lembus Kwen.”

The teenage sensation has been awarded for his brilliant campaign at the Secondary School games where he led the Solidarity Boys to the National football title
The newly-crowned Sports Personality of the Month of September was the star of the show as St Anthony’s stormed to the final of the National Secondary School Games and scored both goals as the Solidarity Boys beat Dagoretti High School 2-0 to claim their sixth national title.
The midfield maestro ended the tournament with 25 goals and 27 assists, including those achieved in the early rounds of the competition.
His mesmerising displays earned him the prestigious title of the competition's Most Valuable Player, a recognition that cemented his place in the annals of Kenyan football history and the 17-year-old will now hope to get even better in Spain.
The 135-year-old academy has nurtured a number of top talents and the Kenyan prodigy will hope to have a successful spell which will earn him a place in one of Europe’s top sides in the near future.
The academy boats of state-of-the-art facilities, elite and experienced coaches which is the perfect environment for Kibet to hone his skills.
Kibet will depart the country on Monday for his latest adventure and he is among three top players who earned moves to academies abroad after impressing at the national school games.
