Isak began his football career at the AIK Solna junior system at just six years old and swiftly climbed up the ranks to make his senior debut in 2016 at the age of 16.

In January 2017, Borussia Dortmund scouts liked what they saw while watching the teenager and the club paid €9 million to sign him.

The 17-year-old made his Dortmund debut just two months later and was eventually sent out on loan to Willem II in the Dutch Eredivisie where he got valuable playing time.

Things still did not work out at Dortmund and the club cashed in by selling Isak to Real Sociedad for €10 million in 2019.

He was named in the Sweden squad for friendlies against the Ivory Coast and Slovakia and made his debut against the former.

His first goal for Sweden arrived just 19 minutes into the game against the latter, setting a new record as the youngest goalscorer for the Sweden national side, at 17 years of age.

Before then, Isak played for every youth Swedish national team from the under-16 to under-21 categories, scoring nine goals in 34 total games across all stages.
