Wakiso Giants FC stars Moses Aliro and Sharif Kimbowa's deals to Young Africans SC fell through after coming short on their respective trials.
The duo has spent the past days with the Tanzanian heavyweights ahead of possible moves, but according to NBS Sport, they fell short and are apparently set for a return to the country.
The Purple Sharks traveled with Yanga to Malawi and featured for the entire match, in a friendly bout against Nyasa Big Bullets, on Thursday.
The match which marked Malawi's 59th independence, lasted 70 minutes, ending in a barren stalemate.
It is reported Aliro's contract with Wakiso Giants expired in June having played 52 league games across two seasons.
In the most recent season, the former KCCA FC academy graduate managed three goals and as many assists.
Meanwhile, Kimbowa has also spent the past two campaigns at the Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium, featuring 46 times.
Last season, he netted nine times in 24 Uganda Premier League games, which is his most potent return in the topflight.
