In the last 12 games between both sides, KCCA have won nine, while Onduparaka can only boast of one win that came in their first season in the top flight.

By the end of this week, KCCA FC will have a clear picture of how the final stretch in the Startimes Uganda Premier League will pan out for them.

Having won two in a row since Jackson Mayanja took over from Morley Byekwaso, the Kasasiro Boys are back in business and can go all the way if they win their remaining games.

Wins over SC Villa and Gaddafi seem to have restored confidence in the team, and Tuesday’s fixture will provide a platform for the players to prove that winning the league is still their main focus.

This week, in particular, will be significant in the race. First, KCCA host Onduparaka at the MTN Omondi Stadium Tuesday afternoon before visiting holders Vipers SC on Friday.

But Mayanja will only think about the Vipers game after dealing with Onduparaka.

“It’s a tricky game because we are playing a team in the relegation zone,” the tactician said ahead of Onduparaka’s visit.

“We shall worry about Vipers after this game. For now, all the focus is on Onduparaka,” he added.

With just 14 points from 23 points and bottom of the table, Onduparaka look destined for life in the FUFA Big League next season.

KCCA, on the other hand, have 46 points from 22 games and a chance to win the title.

The visitors will, however, pick positives from their 2-2 derby draw with Arua Hill and hope to put up a fight at Lugogo.

Tough visit

Onduparaka have always had it challenging against KCCA, especially at Lugogo.

In the last 12 games between both sides, the hosts have won nine games, while Onduparaka can only boast of one win that came in their first season in the top flight.

The two sides have shared spoils on two occasions, but KCCA’s high-scoring results have dominated the fixture.

KCCA have scored 35 goals in the 12 meetings and are due a high-scoring game this season.

Muhammad Shaban, who scored twice for Onduparaka as KCCA fell in Arua, will now turn the gun towards his boyhood club.

Meanwhile, Rogers Mato, who missed the game against Gaddafi, could feature in the game, having trained well with the team.
