On Tuesday, Villa confirmed the appointment of Isaac Mwesigwa as their new chief executive, replacing club legend William Nkemba.
Magera says having his contract not renewed by the Joogos alongside his assistant Ibrahim Kiirya isn't the issue.
What was vital for him was to revive the club's brand, which had been associated with mid-table finishes for a while.
"It was a great run for us at SC Villa last season," Magera told Pulse Sports before adding.

FOOTBALL Byekwaso opens up on his decision to join SC Villa as an assistant coach
Byekwaso, who resigned at KCCA FC as head coach in April 2023 due to a string of poor results, says joining SC Villa in his capacity was based on his desire to learn more from a foreign coach as he also targets to manage clubs beyond the borders shortly.
"I am happy with what we achieved, and for me, the club not renewing my contract wasn't an issue because I had achieved my objective."
"My target was to bring back the recognition of SC Villa to the fans and Ugandan football; we all know that last season's performance was Villa's best in a long while, and for me, that is what counts.
"All I needed was for Villa to return to that space which I achieved, so I wish the new technical team all the best next season," Magera added.
What Next for Magera?
The former KCCA FC assistant coach confirmed to Pulse Sports that he had turned down two offers in East Africa to concentrate on completing his CAF A license, which gets underway in August.
"I am currently on a break, but I remain a football coach; my next step now is to complete my CAF A license, which starts in August."
"Because of that, I have turned down two offers from East Africa to concentrate on my studies; I am, however, still considering options here at home," Magera added.
Magera has been linked to several clubs in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.
