Kayiwa, last season's top scorer in the league, surprisingly remained without a club for most of the transfer window.

The uncertainty surrounding Allan Kayiwa's next destination has come to an end. Pulse Sports can now confirm the details.

Kayiwa, last season's top scorer in the league, surprisingly remained without a club for most of the transfer window.

However, he has finally found a new home, sealing a return to his former club, Express FC, on a short-term deal.

The forward has already joined up with the Red Eagles, who have intensified their preparations by relocating their training base from the NEC grounds in Bugolobi to Kanyanya in Gayaza.

In the previous season, Kayiwa served as Express FC's key player, scoring thirteen goals in as many games as he also captained the side.

His contributions helped the 2021 champions secure a 10th-place finish on the league table.

Alongside other new signings, such as Alpha Ssali, Brian Majwegga, and Emmanuel Wasswa, Kayiwa is expected to provide a significant boost to James Odoch's squad in the upcoming campaign.

Pulse Sports has also learned that left-back Arthur Kiggundu has returned to the team on a short-term deal.

The former Proline and SC Villa left wingback spent the past two seasons with the club.

Express FC last claimed the league title in 2021 under the management of Wasswa Bbosa. They also won the CECAFA Kagame Cup in the same year for the first time.

However, the club has faced challenges in returning to their previous form due to financial difficulties and administrative issues.

The team's initial fixture against KCCA FC was postponed due to their continental commitments. Sergio Traguil's side will face Libyan team Abu Salem on Sunday in the CAF Confederation Cup second preliminary round first leg in Tunisia.

James Odoch's team will have to wait until Saturday, 23rd September, to kick off their campaign, facing Mbarara City FC.
