The one-cap Harambee Stars midfielder came off the bench to help Ararat-Armenia get a much needed three points in their race for the Armenian Premier League title.

Alwyn Tera came on as a substitute as Ararat Armenia got one-on-one over rivals Ararat in an enticing Armenian Premier League match played at the Yerevan Football Academy Stadium on Friday evening.

Ararat Armenia opened the scoring in the 24th minute through Mohamed Yattara before extending their lead again in the 81st minute.

Ararat reduced the deficit in the 86th minute through Armen Nahapetyan, but the home side did enough to keep their lead intact and get all three points at full-time.

The result now means Ararat are second in the league with 22 points, four behind league leaders Pyunik after 10 league games played.

Tera came on as a substitute in the 62nd minute and had 30 minutes to help see out the match and give Ararat a much-needed three points in the title race. In nine matches, Tera has started six times, playing 44 minutes a match.

The right-footed midfielder, who can play as a defensive midfielder, attacking midfielder, and right-back, has scored once this season and collected two yellow cards.

His Kenyan compatriot Amos Nondi, who has become an established member of the starting lineup in a double pivot role in central midfield, was left out of the clash after picking up a yellow card in the game against Alshkert in a 3-1 victory.

Tera has won one cap for the Harambee Stars which he earned on 11 November 2021 in a World Cup qualifier against Uganda.
