Former Harambee Stars striker Boniface Ambani believes Kenya can qualify from group F of the 2026 CAF World Cup qualifiers with proper preparation.
Kenya were placed in a relatively tricky group that features giants Ivory Coast, Burundi, Gambia, Seychelles and Gabon, and will have their work cut out to make history by qualifying for the prestigious global competition.

FKFPL Revealed: Why Bandari added former Gor Mahia custodian Jerim Onyango to technical bench
The Dockers have made wholesale changes to the technical bench, including the addition of former Gor Mahia goalkeeper Jerim Onyango.
“On paper, the group looks easy, but teams have developed and you cannot write off any team. If we prepare early and get a solid team that has been picked on merit, we have a chance,” Ambani told NTV.
Ambani has challenged head coach Engin Firat not to pick the team based off favoritism, but rather, merit.
“The squads picked should not be picked based off favoritism. If that happens we have a chance. The two teams that can frustrate us are probably Burundi and Ivory Coast.

The two Kenyan clubs are exploring alternative venues following reports that Kasarani Stadium might not be allowed to host their continental fixtures.
“Other teams are beatable. Seychelles will be a walk in the park. We have played them three times and beaten them all the time. I think we have played three times against Burundi. We have beaten them once while they have beaten us twice.
“We have never played against Gambia. Gabon have beaten us twice. It is a group we can dominate if we prepare well.”
The first match of the two-legged qualifiers will be played between November 13 and 21 with the winners of each group directly qualifying for the tournament.
Ambani won 12 caps for Kenya, scoring 5 goals.
