The development was confirmed on Sunday afternoon by the Tanzania Football Federation president Mr Wallace Karia during a press briefing in Dar-es-Salaam.

Taifa Stars head coach Adel Amrouche has summoned Simba SC pair in right back Shomari Kapombe and left back Hussien ‘Tshabalala’ Mohamed to his squad ahead of the 2023 AFCON Qualifier against the Uganda Cranes.

The development was confirmed on Sunday afternoon by the Tanzania Football Federation president Mr Wallace Karia during a press briefing in Dar-es-Salaam.

The duo were a surprise omission from the original squad that beat the Uganda Cranes in Suez in Egypt, but they are now expected to be part of Amrouche’s plans ahead of Tuesday’s game.

Simon Msuva’s lone goal was the difference against the Uganda Cranes on Friday, and the win took the Taifa Stars to the second spot on four points after three games played in Group F.

In a related development, the Uganda Cranes touched down in Dar-es-Salaam on Sunday morning ahead of their AFCON qualifier against the Taifa Stars on Tuesday.

Multin Sredejovic’s side must win Tuesday’s encounter at the Benjamin Mkapa stadium to revive their AFCON qualification campaign.

The Cranes sit bottom of the group on one point after three games played.
