Ugandan champions for both the boys and girls at the CAF African Schools Football Championship Cecafa qualifiers Amus College and Royal Giants are through to the semifinals.
Amus College girls won their opening games on Friday beating El Hila AL Jadida (Sudan) 3-0 and later CEM Baulous (Djibouti) by 1-0.
They needed a point to seal a spot in the last four but went on to win the match. Shakira Logose showed the urgency with which the team wanted the win by scoring inside the first 30 seconds of the game,
Amus top group B with nine points and are scheduled to face Awaro secondary from Ethiopia in the semifinal on Sunday.
In the boys’ category, Royal Giants kept their perfect record with a 2-0 win over Ecole Secondaire Sumba from Rwanda. They qualify with a game to spare.

The final tournament will be played in Egypt in April.
