Andile Jali will leave Masandawana after six years with the club, according to his agent Mike Makaab, who spoke to South Africa's SABC Sport.
It's that time of the football season when players and clubs say goodbyes to each other like is the case at Mamelodi Sundowns, where one of the best midfielders in the league is set to pack up.
Andile Jali will leave Masandawana after six years with the club, according to his agent Mike Makaab, who spoke to South Africa's SABC Sport.
"We're in the process of finalizing a mutual termination, which will be done this week. He will leave on a positive and amicable basis," Mike Makaab, Jali's agent, told SABC Sport.
"An official statement will come from the club, but when a "new coach" comes to the club, he has his thoughts and ideas, and we have to respect that, and so does AJ," he added.
Jali, ranked as one of the best holding midfielders in the Dstv Premiership, hasn't played for Sundowns since February in the Nedbank Cup round of 32 after allegedly reporting to training under the influence of Alcohol.
The 33-year-old joined the Brazilians as a free agent from Belgian outfit KV Oostende in July 2018 and has since won five league titles.
Including the current one, even though he had stopped training with the club long ago.
Mike Makaab was silent on Jali's next move, with the Bafana Bafana midfielder linked to several Dstv Premiership clubs.
"We are trying to finalize the issue with Sundowns out of respect for both parties. He wants to play; he believes he's got two more years at least.
"He was outstanding last year and good in the first few months of this season, but things changed."
Makaab added: "Then we have to get him ready for pre-season. He's got a personal trainer at the moment."
"And he is very motivated for the next chapter; I still believe that he is the best No.6 in the land.
Sundowns won the league for the sixth time in a row, a record in the South African top division.
