The former England star says Manchester United should go for the Super Eagles striker to solve their striking issues.
Andy Cole has urged Manchester United to go all out for Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen in their search for a proven goalscorer.
United are currently in the market for a top striker as they aim to challenge for the biggest trophies again.
Cole wants Osimhen at Manchester United
The Red Devils are on their way back under manager Erik Ten Hag but they are still a few signings short of reaching the level of Europe’s top clubs.
Although United have already signed Wout Weghorst, the Dutch striker is not seen as the long-term solution as he only signed a six-month loan deal.
With the club likely to be in the market for a proven striker in the summer, Cole has urged United to go for Osimhen.
"I think Victor Osimhen at Napoli is very good and could be the long-term natural fit. The question is whether Napoli would be prepared to let him go.
"He’s rangy, got a good first touch, scores goals and is a decent size as well. I watched him play against Liverpool and he was more than prepared to link the play and then run in behind,” Cole told Betway as per Daily Mirror.
Osimhen's impressive numbers
Osimhen has been linked with a move away from Napoli following his incredible performances for the club this season. The 24-year-old is the leading marksman in Serie A this season with 12 goals in 14 games. The Super Eagles star also scored one goal in three Champions League matches.
However, potential suitors like United will have to convince Napoli to sell their star man. The Neapolitans are not willing to sell the Nigerian international, but reports claim they could consider a fee of over €100m for the Super Eagles star.
Osimhen still has two years left on his contract in Naples having joined the side for a club-record fee of €75m from Lille in 2020.
