Antonio Conte has reportedly lost the Tottenham Hotspur dressing with most of the club's stars eager to see him sacked following his recent post-match rant.
Antonio Conte’s future at Tottenham Hotspur is currently shrouded in doubt following his scathing post-match remarks.
Over the weekend, Spurs threw away a 3-1 lead in the Premier League to draw with relegation-threatened Southampton on Saturday, much to the annoyance of the Spurs manager.
Spurs dramatic sloppiness forced Conte to explode during his post-match press conference, with the 53-year-old Italian visibly frustrated with his team’s performance.
"They don’t play for something important," he furiously said.
"They don’t want to play under pressure, they don’t want to play under stress.
"It is easy this way. Tottenham’s story is this. For 20 years there is the owner, but they never won something but why?"
"The fault is only for the club, or for every manager that stays here? I have seen the managers that Tottenham had on the bench.
"Until now I try to hide the situation but not now because, I repeat, I don’t want to see what I have seen today because this is unacceptable and also unacceptable for the fans."
However, Conte's decision to publicly slam the board and call out his players hasn't gone down well at the club, with a number of influential figures in his team pushing to see the former Chelsea and Inter manager axed before the end of the season.
Tottenham Hotspur players reportedly clamour for Conte’s sack after brutal assessment following Southampton draw
According to reports, Spurs stars are 'stunned' at Conte's explosive rant and there are a 'few players' who want him gone before the next league game against Everton on April 3, as per The Sun.
Club chairman Daniel Levy’s hand could be forced to show the former Juventus boss the exit door during the international break.
Conte’s contract in North London expires at the end of the season and from all indications, he is expected to leave Spurs in the summer.
However, his recent explosive press conference could see his exit come much sooner.
Despite the reported mutiny at the club, Spurs still sit in fourth place ahead of Newcastle United and Liverpool and are very much in the race to qualify for the Champions League next season.
Although, they have already played two more games than Newcastle and Liverpool.
