Ex-Manchester United striker Andy Cole has criticised Antony for his poor performances since arriving from Ajax.
Antony joined Manchester United from Ajax last summer for €100 million on a five-year deal and has failed to live up to expectations.
The Brazilian winger has scored just 8 goals and 5 assists in 54 appearances for the Red Devils and has dealt with off-field issues relating to domestic violence.
Andy Cole frustrated with Antony
Speaking to Sky Sports, Cole said: “He drives me absolutely mad.
“He’s an individual; we all know he’s very left-footed; he is an individual who never goes to the right-hand side so as a centre-forward if you are making a run to the near post, you know you are never going to get it.
“He is going to check back, you are not sure when he is going to put it in the box. He doesn’t score enough goals for me, and he doesn’t create enough chances for his teammates.
“So you look at that and say, ‘Okay, what are you giving?’ That is what you are expecting from him. They have spent a hell of a lot of money on him; the manager’s backed him and he’s found it really, really tough.”
Antony is yet to score or assist a single goal this season and has been one of the major criticisms of the Ten Hag era as the United manager continues to back him despite his horrendous form.
