The defender was one of the two new players called by Firat ahead of this month’s friendly with Iran.
Danish-born defender Daniel Anyembe has opened up on his feelings of pride after training with Harambee Stars ahead of the Iran friendly.
Viborg right-back, born of a Kenyan father, is expected to make his debut against Iran in an international friendly on March 28.
In an interview with FKF media, Anyembe spoke about his excitement at being named to the squad, saying that he is proud to be part of the senior national team of Kenya.
“ I am thrilled to be here to play some football for the Kenya national team. Everyone is warm-hearted and welcoming, and I am happy to be already training with the boys. My teammates welcomed me very well in the camp.
I am looking forward to the game against Iran, and it is a good challenge because they were recently in the World Cup.
I am sure if we keep training as we did today(Tuesday), we can perform well against Iran,” Anyembe said in an interview with FKF media.

Anyembe was born to a Kenyan father and a Danish mother and was 2019 approached by FKF to play for Harambee Stars.
However, an injury delayed his maiden call-up to the national team for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations finals in Egypt.
Anyembe previously played for junior national teams in Denmark before changing his nationality after failing to get a call-up for the Dynamites.
The 24-year-old defender has played his football in Denmark since he started professional football at Esbjerg IF 92 six years ago.
He is currently in the books of Viborg FF, having joined from Mjondalen in August 2021, and has made 11 appearances for the club this season.
