Nigeria shocks Argentina

Nigeria’s quest for a first-ever FIFA U20 World Cup title received a massive boost after the Flying Eagles held off the hosts in the round of 16.

The Flying Eagles put up a solid display to avenge the 2005 defeat to Argentina in the final of the FIFA U20 World Cup.

Ladan Bosso’s boys did it with style and in Argentina’s backyard with all their fans watching.

The Eagles were resolute to repel the rampant Argentines who were caged for the duration of the encounter by Nigeria’s rock-solid defence.

Argentina dominated the clash on the ball, but it was Nigeria that scored the decisive goals that proved to be the ultimate difference in the end.
