Mikel Arteta has opened up on the club's interest in signing Napoli and Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen.
Victor Osimhen has been linked to a host of clubs throughout this transfer window as a move away from Napoli seems inevitable.
The Super Eagles striker was believed to be close to a move to Ligue 1 giants PSG, but a combination of factors, including his price and concerns about his injury record have put an end to that deal.
Arsenal emerged as genuine contenders to sign the 25-year-old in recent weeks as manager Mikel Arteta looks for the perfect goalscorer to finally help wrestle the Premier League title from Manchester City's grasp.
Arteta opens up on Osimhen interest
The Gunners' reported interest is yet to materialise into a formal approach and Arteta has spoken on the situation ahead of the clash against Aston Villa.
"Signing a new striker is not a question that we ask ourselves because we have some great strikers.
"We fully trust our players and we want to get better... but we are going to try with players that are already with us".
What Arteta's comments mean for the future of Osimhen remains to be seen but with just 6 days left until the end of the transfer window, time is running out.
