Chelsea’s Senegalese defender Kalidou Koulibaly has been heavily criticised by Arsenal legend Ian Wright.
Former Arsenal striker Ian Wright has heavily criticised Chelsea defender, Kalidou Koulibaly for his “nervy” performances since arriving at Chelsea.
Koulibaly joined Chelsea in the summer window from Napoli but the experienced defender has been underwhelming and failed to live up to expectations so far, much to the disappointment of Wright.
The Gunners legend and current football pundit questioned Koulibaly’s credentials and pointed out the Senegal international’s frailties in Chelsea’s latest defeat to Fulham.

Speaking on his podcast called ‘Wrighty's House’ the former England international claimed Koulibaly looked “f***ing nervy.”

“How can somebody be so fragile like (Kalidou) Koulibaly?' Wright asked passionately, launching an inquisition into the 31-year-old defender.
“Koulibaly looks very f***ing nervy and very anxious,” the 59-year-old continued his strongly-worded rant.

Chelsea goalkeeper, Kepa Arrizabalaga was not spared either as Wright criticised him for his complicity in the recent bad run of defeats.
“I’m looking at Kepa and I’m sorry man but it’s not working out. The man makes too many mistakes. He looks very nervy. When you look at Fulham’s goals and the Manchester City goal, I think Kepa has to do better,” Wright said.

“We’re looking at a Chelsea side where even if they’re playing well, I cannot look at the goalkeeper and think he’s going to help them win a game. I can’t see it,” the Arsenal legend concluded.
Koulibaly and Kepa have been key parts of the poor Chelsea defence this season, conceding 21 goals so far this season in the league - only 12 short of their entire tally last campaign with 20 games still to play.

The Blues have also shipped 17 goals in their last 10 games across all competitions, a testament to their bad form this season.
