The Premier League leaders Arsenal are prepared to try again in the summer for Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo after the deal collapsed in January.

The Ecuadorian midfielder was Arsenal's top target in January, and Brighton turned down their 70 million Euro offer, the highest sum they had ever received for any of their players.

With just ten matches remaining, Arsenal finds themselves with a comfortable eight-point lead at the top of the Premier League table.

Mikel Arteta's side are eight points clear of their rival Manchester City who have a game in hand. They fancy their chances of maintaining their advantage and lifting the trophy for the first time in two decades.

Arsenal transfer signings

The Gunners, who finished fifth last season, seem to have benefited greatly from the signings of Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko last summer. Jorginho, who joined in January, has also excelled, but it still seems that Arteta wants to bolster his midfield this summer.

The Gunners are weighing up another offer for Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo, according to Football Transfers. The league leaders, who missed out on the Ecuadorian international during the January transfer window, would prioritise a move for him this summer.

Caicedo would prefer Arsenal move

The 21-year-old was approached by Arsenal about a transfer in January but it was rejected by Brighton. Caicedo would take a chance this time if a bid comes in as the Gunners are considering their midfield options and seeking to sign him in the summer.

In January 2021, the midfielder moved to Brighton from Independiente del Valle. That summer, he was loaned to Beerschot VA of Belgium. In the 39 games since his return to The Amex in January of last year, he has established himself as one of the best players outside of the Premier League's "top six," making 39 appearances.

While at least two proposals for Caicedo were reportedly turned down by Brighton in January, the Gunners have opted to prioritize a move for him once more in light of Martin Zubimendi's decision to pledge his future to current side Real Sociedad.

Caicedo did, however, sign a new long-term contract with Brighton in February, keeping him with the club until 2027, despite Arsenal's interest. The midfielder's price may have gone up because of that new contract, but it seems like Arsenal won't back down from getting their man.
