Premier League runner-up Arsenal are reportedly preparing to bolster their attack this summer with Newcastle's Isak.
Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Alexander Isak despite Newcastle's attempt to deter suitors by slapping a ridiculous price tag on the Swede striker.
Isak joined Newcastle in the summer of 2022 for a club record €70 million fee. He has spent two seasons at the club and could be set for an exit this summer as many top clubs are interested in taking him away from St. James's Park.

Arsenal's interest amid heavy price tag
Arsenal want to bolster their offensive ranks in the summer, especially in the centre-forward position, and the club's manager, Mikel Arteta, is said to covet Isak.
The Gunners are expected to make a move for him this summer; however, they will have Newcastle to contend with, as the Magpies have no intention of letting their prized asset leave only two seasons after splashing a club record fee to snap him up from Real Sociedad.
Per the Telegraph, Isak has a “not for sale” status, and Newcastle are working on offering him a contract extension, despite the current deal having four years left. Although it was reported that an offer of £90 million would bring Newcastle to the table, an insider from the club claimed it needed to be double that amount to get them to listen.
Arsenal will also have to work hard to convince Isak, as the striker confirmed a few months ago that he had no intention of leaving Newcastle.
"Of course, I want to be here at Newcastle in the future,” he told reporters. “I came here for the project, I absolutely love playing here, I really feel at home. It doesn't affect me that much [transfer rumours].

“It has been talked about many times, in many windows. I see it as just such a thing. Everyone knows that summer is coming and if things show up, things can happen, but I actually haven't even thought about it."
Isak struggled with injury in his debut season at Newcastle; however, this term, he has shown the form that helped him command the price tag. He has scored 25 goals in all competitions this season, 21 of which came in the Premier League.
