Arsenal legend Paul Merson has urged the club to make a move for Belgian forward Romelu Lukaku to provide adequate competition for the misfiring Gabriel Jesus next season.
Arsenal threw away an opportunity to win the Premier League for the first time since 2004 after blowing an 8-point lead.
The Gunners slipped up when it mattered most, dropping points in 4 consecutive games, culminating in a 4-1 defeat to Manchester City at the Etihad.
Merson urges Arsenal to move for Lukaku
Paul Merson, who now works as a television pundit gave his thoughts on Arsenal’s issues and how Mikel Arteta could improve the squad ahead of next season.
He told Give Me Sport: “Ivan Toney would have suited Arsenal, but that won’t happen now because of his ban.
“Romelu Lukaku might be available. The 30-year-old is an out-and-out centre-forward. He will stay up front and back into players. That could help Arsenal."
