Bukayo Saka's participation in Sunday's top-of-the-table clash between Arsenal and Liverpool has been in contention. In a recent press conference, Gunners boss Mikel Arteta provided an important update.
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has provided an optimistic update on the availability of Bukayo Saka for Arsenal's week premier league game against Liverpool.
The 22-year-old has missed the last two games for the Gunners due to the injury and he faces the race again, time ahead of the top-of-the-table clash against the Reds.
Arteta’s Crucial Update
Arsenal have struggled in their latest two games without their talisman; they suffered their first defeat of the season, a 2-0 loss to Bournemouth with Saka out to a leg injury. And while they managed to beat Skaktar in the Champions League, they looked way off the pace.
Hence, Arsenal fans have waited in anticipation for positive news on Saka's injury situation, given the importance of the match ahead.
The Gunner's boss, Arteta, has now provided some respite, as he suggested that the HALE END graduate could be available when they host Arne Slot side this weekend.
He confirmed that Saka had done some training on grass, but he was still some way from being match-fit. However, he remains optimistic they can get him up to speed before kickoff at 5:30pm Nigerian time on Sunday evening.
While it is unlikely Saka will start the match, Arteta's update suggests he can get some minutes off the bench.
